I’ve always been interested in stories. My strong desire to collaborate took me to film school post army life. I found that I loved it and loved working with people. The other thing that I learned is that every person you add to a team makes it more complicated to get things over the finish line. Then I realized that even though I had vision and passion, on small scale projects you really need to be able to contribute something concrete to the project to help complete it. So I started to work on my drawing and writing skills.

I had always assumed I couldn’t draw and couldn’t write…although the jury is ultimately still out on both I started grinding away trying to draw regularly and working on outlining and writing kids books and YA novels. I’m probably the most interested in those because I’m have kids. I also have way more girls than boys, and I wanted to write stories my kids could read so I worked on making female characters my main characters.

Somewhere along the way I discovered graphic novels and I fell in love with them. The creative abilities put forth by the art form are incredible. I have a particular affection for independent comics and self published comics.
